Abstract. This article examines 10 French round dance songs (choral) and 10 Russian round dance songs (choral). A socio-cultural analysis was also carried out, along with the examination of the origins of Russian and French popular songs. In the article were highlighted the themes of these songs and the most recurring lexemes. The structure of Russian popular round songs and French popular round songs was examined. The study shows that the themes of the popular choral songs of the two countries are almost identical, with only slight modifications.
