Abstract. The paper attempts to find answers to philosophical and philological questions discussed by the modern German-speaking writer D. Kelman in the novel “F”, which is written in the style of magical realism. There are a lot of “F” in the novel: family, fate, philosophy, failure. The given concepts are considered through the prism of metaphor, it is seen how the set of “F” is realized through a series of “M”.
